Cutting Plaice Croply


Unlike Dover Sole, Plaice is best eaten as quickly as possible as the flavour quickly fades. This popular strong-tasting fresh fish takes to sauces and different flavours well, and is great for battering. Spawning season for Plaice falls between February and April which leaves the flesh thinner and a little watery.

Available fresh in the following grades:

  • Small/Medium 250-450g
  • Large 500g+ (can be up to 1kg in weight)
  • 180-200g Fillet Portion
  • 400-450g Whole Portion
